Some of the best Smallmouth Bass fishing in the Oregon takes place on the John Day River and the Sheppards have been guiding multi day camp trips since 2001. Defined as the Grand Canyon of Oregon, anglers of all skill levels can enjoy insanely high rates of feisty smallmouth bass while experiencing one of the West’s most interesting and least traveled wilderness float trips in the Pacific Northwest.
Marty and Mia create exceptional fishing experiences for anglers by providing the most comfortable camps and preparing the tastiest meals using fresh produce and meats
The Sheppards run multi-day float trips for small mouth bass and steelhead. Our trips focus on a number of floats between Priest Hole and Cottonwood Canyon. Typically the camp crew will hustle downstream to secure and set up camp while the anglers will carefully work their way downstream fishing from the boats. In addition to having earned a reputation for great camps and cooking, the Sheppards are well known for providing great instruction and making their guests better anglers. Whether you want to work on your overhand or spey cast the Sheppards have what it takes to improve your game.
For families and private parties keen on fly fishing success, these multi-day rafting trips provide a high level of adventure while not sacrificing comfort.
